Fitness Tip #1....proper technique is a "MUST" when lifting weights.

I have been to many gyms in my lifetime, and the one thing that never fails to astonish me is the lack of attention or education that gym members get when it comes to proper technique. In my mind, if the people running the organization do not make it a priority to teach their clients how to use the equipment properly, then the client should demand their money back and never return to that place"ever"again. The risks that can occur in an untrained or unsupervised person are high and the result could do you more "harm" than "good".

New study finds that MBT, Skechers, and Reebok toning shoes yield no results and recommends adding weight instead. Hello NGR!

A study commissioned by the American Council on Exercise, the nonprofit body that certifies fitness professional, finds that Skechers, MBT, and Reebok have the same impact on heart rate, VO2 Max, and calories burned as regular running shoes. I received an interesting call the other day from a husband who really wanted to help his wife get back into shape. As I patiently awaited for the opportunity to ask him some general questions, he pointed out to me three specific details about his spouse: A) That she needed to lose at least 70 lbs. B) That all she really needed was the use of some dumbbells and C) She has never exercised before. Also, pointed out to me that he was very tight with his budget and assumed that a few sessions should do the trick for her.
